READ READ READ! Ensure that your student is keeping up with reading , along with having some fun!
Here are a few other great tips: http://www.greatschools.org/students/summer-activities/slideshows/4169-summer-learning-middle-school.gs Students can EARN the privilege to participate in Spirit Week/Red Ribbon Week Dress Up Days by having NO MAs for the entire week of October 14-18th in their Learning Log. If they have NO MISSING ASSIGNMENTS for the ENTIRE week of Oct. 14-18th, they will earn a SPECIAL “Santiago Red Ribbon Week 2013” wristband.
This special rubber wristband will be their ticket to participate in the dress up days and lunchtime games during Spirit/Red Ribbon Week Monday-Thursday, October 21-24th (Halloween Dress Up Day on Friday 10/25 is still for ALL students). If a student forgets to bring their wristband or they lose it, they will lose their privilege to participate in the dress days and will need to wear their regular uniform. Dress Up Days: Monday- Sock it to Drugs, Crazy Sock Day (Must wear your regular uniform) Tuesday- Team Up Against Drugs and wear your favorite team jersey/shirt (must wear uniform bottoms) Wednesday- Don't Let Drugs Get You Mixed Up- Mix Matched Clothes Day (Free Dress, according to guidelines sent home) Thursday- Stand Up Against Drugs- Wear Red (red shirts and red socks are ok, but must be appropriate) Friday- Scare Drugs Away, Halloween Dress Up Day (FOR ALL STUDENTS! ) Courtesy of Mr. Rodriguez: “Never stop just because you feel defeated. The journey to the other side is attainable only after great suffering.”-Santosh I hope all of your have had a great summer break and are ready to begin this school year.
